Nice selection of fish and the prices seems fairly reasonable. Its a pitty that I am an "irish sea" away. Also they have a great selection of blasted mbuna!

Yes I had seen this site...and I'm not that far away from it. So which ones would you consider unusual and worth considering mama?

mamamia, blasted mbuna? I think I'll stick to what I have, suggest keeping anything else and your opening yourself up for the firing squad. gob####es need to stop coming in and throwing remarks like your site, and our site, and should remember who the people are who regulary use this site and make it what it is!!!!! which untill recently was a site worthy of its name.

to all you great folk, mamma, tanks, mark, aquarist, ferris, chaffi, and a few others, have a great day :good:

to those a$$ wipes who have nothing of interest to add PI$$ OOOFF WITH YA!!!!!!!

I`d seen that before they advertise in the back of PFK under Cichlids as well, it`s a bit far for me (272miles) but if I did go I would like either Pseudotropheus Elongatus Chewere or Pseudotropheus Elongatus mpanga as kept by BabySealClubber and Tanks.

cheffi, i'm kida surprised to see some shellies on his list, (lamp hequei) not easy to find over here and a nice nice fish. also the tetracanthus another Lamp. the julidochromis group look good and of course the frontosa's too.

for malawi, the otopharynx is stunning as is the phenochilus (he's misspelled it  though LOL)

wish he had more cynotilapia to choose from but i'd take the cobue for sure!

Nick, who knows maybe a group road trip could be fun someday! work up a forum meeting and make it worth the trip :)

I never realized how limited for space you guys were until coming here, I wish you could have all the stores you dreamed of right around the corner..

;)

PS...Brewyn, who gave you a picture of me and how dare you post it for all to see???? it's my best shot and now you've ruined the mystique that is ME!
(falls off chair-laughing)

Thx for that mama, I will do a bit of research on them later and see if any are viable.

well Iv'e just got back with some more of them damned mbuna and some happs, managed to replace my lost chipokei and also get 4 obliquadens. have just tried out the new maiden head aquatics down the road and its good, even with a computorised till they still managed to do themselves out of about £20, didn't notice till I got home, honestly!!!! :D

Brewyn- my 1 of my LFS staff managed to read the price on the bag upside down lol, so from £5.99 to £2.66 they gave me  the trainning them must give these people.

:good:

Hey breywn, I didnt have a clue what the fish you bought looked like to a did a bit of a goole image search. The fish look great and I'm sure they will make a nice addition to you tank. I thought that this link might interest you it popped up in the search results, its about the obliquadens and their true name. About the £20, you seem like an honest guy so I believe you!

Not Obliquadens

Have checked these cichlids out Nick and they are really cool but they all came up on a website in Leigh, Lancs. Are you anywhere near there by chance and if not they do post with over 300 different types. Check them out they are penningtonaquatics.co.uk

They look very professional and they seem to have a nice selection of fish. Not too many mbuna, which might please a particular person around here!!! :p Also they seem to do very good value tanks and they can make them to any specification!!! Fancy!! There is no shop like that in Ireland!

Awww tanks...well you can't have everything...least you got the stunning scenery and the guinness.

Hello tanks. thanks for the link you left for me to look at! its an interesting link but it was something that I was already aware of, as my mate who taught me the difference between the different malawi species, had already put me right on this fact. the so called obliquadens I have in my tank were one of the very first cichlids that I ever purchased, and out of all the cichlids, I think they are one of the most stunning. I regretted parting with mine several years ago so was overjoyed when I spotted them today, they were a deffinate must have. I think one of the first conversations I took part in on this forum was also with regards to the obliquaden, I'm not sure but I think It may have been with ferris?????easy to find out. as it mentioned in the link, it is widely mistaken for an obliquaden, and I am thankfull, cause if it had been under a different name, I would not have spotted them, but thanks for pointing me in that direction, its always nice to have some true information with regards to the fish we keep.

with regards to the £20 shortfall, it was not noticed untill the missus said she didn't think we had been charged for everything, I wasn't paying attention as I was too busy trying to gain some information on the build of my marine sump, which I am very keen to make a start on, which also has now changed, as I am using a slightly shorter tank, but much taller. so if anyone has any good Ideas on how to set one up, then please PM, or something, cheers. :good:
