Today I bought 2 female balloon mollys.
1 of which I knew was expecting and didn't look like she had long to go before having her babies.
I put her straight into my breeder/hatchery box in the main tank (after floating the bag as usual). She has just given birth to some of her babies (all of which are alive although one didn't swim immediatly).
So far there are six but looking at the size of her there is an awful load more to come.
Now I have questions, what do I feed the fry on and when do I start feeding them?
I am now going to go back downstairs and sit in front of the tank watching for the other new arrivals.

Here is the new family.
Sorry about the pic quality but I don't have a zoom lense digi cam so this is the best I can do at the moment.
I have removed the mother as she started showing an unhealthy interest in the babies as soon as she came out of the labour trance.

p.s. Everyone be prepared for loads of questions as this is my first lot of fry too.
There are 30 living babies, she had 2 still born and about 3 - 4 unfertalised eggs.

yaaaaaaa lotsa babys. a rely good way to feed ur fry is to use a seringe or turkey baster. mash up the flake food and mix it with water till it is a pastey looking sludge. then in the corner of the breeder squrt it out. try this and get back to me. iv never tryed this but iv heard it works great. :p

p.s. concrats :fun:

ok a sering will work. ur babys should get big quick. feeding them atleast 2-3 times a day like that should get them big enogh to be in the main tank in like a week or two depending on wat other fish u have in there. gl and onece again congrats.

Hey! I want to personally congratulate you on your babies! CONGRATS :D You must be very happy!!! Now for feeding I was thinking powdered flake food, brine shrimp, things along that line that are small.
