I need some advice for Halfmoons...

i think the same rule applies to all bettas, dont have too much water flow in the tank and keep it on its own maybe with a few shrimp/ snails that kind of thing. sorry cant be of any more help but im sure all the betta fans will help you out

Im just scared that he'll die

Degrading with a Stingray 5gal Filter?

sounds good enough i guess.

there is no reason he should die if the filter is cycled and you look after him.... if there are too many other inhabitants then it may stress him so keep it to a minimum and he will be fine

Filter will be cycled and water change every 2 weeks
3 cherry shrimps should'nt stress him out?

I Dont know why but betta's like to die from me but it could Just be the LFS

Its a 5 gallon im getting.

Im going ot start searching for the filter.

If its something decent then once every two weeks it is.

But im sure you can buy a condintoner witch | kills nirates / ammonia | also as long as i check the water levels every couple days it'll be fine

I wouldnt reccomend getting those solutions for removing Nitrates etc. There a gimmik, a great way for the LFS to make money.

How comes you dont make a diy sponge filter.

but i dont think it'll look mnice iwth my halfmoon

and yea.. i thouht there was something wrong with them..

i put some into my fish tank a week ago. and it killed some of my fish!!

threw it away.
not using that again.

Without a filter in a 5g tank id say 20-30% every two days.

Either way a test kit is needed so you will have to test the water every 2-3 days.

To disguise the filter, on the tank put up a black background (Bin Liner or Black CardBoard) and then get some black plumbing tape and cover the filter box with that
