How do you make xmas moss look good attached to slate. Every time I attach it with fishing line it flattens it all and looks rubbish unlike all the lovely pics on the internet.

How do I make my moss look as good as those online? How do I get them to stand through the fishing line without becoming detached and how do you keep the fishing line tight so it doesn't all just fall off because I can't get it to work?

Any tips, hints etc will be appreciated. I have read through the other moss carpeting threads etc but I couldn't find much about the details off Xmas moss.

Kind Regards,

Adam

or you could give it enough time to grow. It'll always start out flat, you have to wait for it to grow through the fishing line.

Patience is a virtue :) Nothing good ol' time won't fix. Sit back and relax, give it a few weeks ;)

Thank you for the quick replies :good:

Yeah I am rather inpatiant. I don't have glue and how thick should I layer the stuff.

Should it be a few pieces so I can still see the slate clearly under or a good clump so that I can only see slight amounts of slate or nice and thick so that it looks well covered.

If I flatten it all I assume as it is xmas moss it will grow upwards OK over time etc.

Im being really patient with the cycling. I haven't got enough patience for both the cycling and the moss

Kind Regards,

Adam

Lol don't lay it so thick that the moss on top blocks out the light to the layers below or they'll die.

I am only doing 3 very small pieces of slate so will see how it goes with just a little bit to cover and if not I have a bucket full of xmas moss at the moment to try again.

Cheers.
