Xenotoca Eiseni

I have mine housed in a 20 gallon with guppies and platy's.
I ahvent noticed any aggresion whatsoever, yet anyways.
I have 4 otto's and a tiger snail as well which also seem to be doing just fine.
No cories though, although I wasnt planning on adding any bottom feeders since the guppies, platy's and goodeids will do a good enough job cleaning up all area'a of the tank anyhow.

I didnt think the post was hijacked, in fact I dont believe there's such a thing as hijacking a post.
Any additional information and/or discussion on any post is a bonus as far as I'm concerned.

Btw, I'll be staying at the kahler grand again, and I'll be grabbin a cup of java from the starbucks there as well! :D

Oh, I do envy you! I would love to keep goodeids, but would need another tank, and they are hard to find- supose you would have to go through the Livebearers Association or something.

And luckily for you, the pet shop in Aurendel Street (however you spell it) in Portsmouth has both Xenotoca Eiseni and Ameca Splendens  I'm tempted to get some, not sure about tank arrangement though...

to me, if you take over someone's post for your own purpose, it is highjacking, which i do a lot b/c i get lazy about making a new post if someone is already talkin about similar/same topic, and yeah it is nice to have more info in there...yeah i got 10 of the Crescent Goodieds (see other post for pics) and they did fine with the fish i have last night...what is the kahler grand? If you mean the new hotel that is the Royal Park Inn or whatever it's name is that is right down the street from me, I walk by it on the way to starbucks in teh summer hehehe

With goodeids in particular, and livebearers in general, gaining popularity I tried to sell some of my goodeids to a local pet store and they refused to pay for them! They said they would take them for free but that they didn't buy from local people. Jeez, I already thought they didn't know anything about fish but being jerks on top of that?! I guess I will have to try to sell the fry on aquabid or something this summer when it warms up.

yeah no kidding, esp for goodeids... i was told by one place when i was lookin for some that not only didn't they have them, but they would never get them to sell...yeah if i was closer id def wanna get some of ur fry but before i get carried away id need another tank for the goodeids as i don't wanna cross breed anything with the crescents i already have...

What kind of goodeids do you have? I've been looking for a couple species and if all else fails I will trek to Jersey for the ALA convention and buy them from someone's hotel room...

All I have right now is Chapalichthys pardalis. They are fairly common but have nice color.

Great little goodeid. I have like a dozen young ones now and am in the process of getting a new female. Mine died when we had a power outage.

I would show a picture but I can't figure out how to get it to show right now.
