Hi, i wonder if anyone can give me some help, one of my x ray tetras appears to be constantly sinking... its swimming with its head up at 45 degrees and as soon as it stops for a rest it starts to sink to the bottom of the tank.. It is still feeding and all the other fish are 100% normal..

Tank is 125l stats are :
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 15
ph7
26 degrees

Thanks

Not sounding to good bless him.
Does he look bloated.
It sounds like swim bladder.
Any red streaking or sores on his body.
Is he looking exhausted.

I would issolate the use a bacterial med.
What do you feed your fish.

No not bloated at all... there are no sores or red streaks at all..

i feed normally with hakari micro pellets plus bloodworm twice a week

yes he is looking exhausted but every time he stops for a rest he sinks...

will isolate tonight - which med do you recommend?

thanks

Feed some shelled peas.
Dont over feed bloodworms they can cause bloating. Also freeze dried bloodworms can cause consitpation and swim bladder problems.

A med that treats swim bladder.
The med will only work if it's a bacterial infection of the swim bladder.

Improve the fish diet with more frozen foods like daphnia, and brime shrimp.
Introduce some green veg into there diet.

Good news !!!!! the little fella is back to his normal 'floaty' self....

That's good news.
Did you feed some peas, or add a med.
