 my raphael cat is rediculusly bloated i noticed it this morning and i think it may be because hes a pig and eats all he can ,,,,well last night i put 2 algie wafers in the tank and beleive he ate them both and is why he is bloated but i guess what the question is is there any thing els that would make him bloat up like that over night

Photo's would be helpful if possible...

Are any of it's scales protruding? What colour is it's poo if you can tell that is as they are very timid fish is it acting normally swimming as normal, equilibreim is fine?

And I could be wrong but 110 gallons is to small...especially with 3 common plecs, 2 channel cats, black ghost knife, 4 bala sharks and 2 clown loaches ( group should be larger) plus a unknown Syno so it seems to me ( I am probably wrong but) seems overstocked so what are your water conditions??

In my experience, doradids (like most catfish) will stuff themselves if food is available. My largest doradid has a habit of looking like he has swallowed a golf ball.

I wouldn't' be overly worried about this at all.

I would be tempted to look carefully at your stocking though...

its definetly gone down but hes still swollen hes swimming and acting normal but as far as aver stocking i noin the furure i will need to rehome some of the inhgabitants the channel cats i couldnt catch last week instead i was able to catch the albino cat and 2 pictus from the tank i just rehomed them at my local fish shop for store credit everything else is just 2 small at the time 2 wana re home them yet i already know of the situation the only thing getting kinda big is the bgk as far as water goes i just changed water sunday along with a rock vacume but as far as stocking goes i no its contriversal but thats how i do my tanks and wen they get 2 big i just regome them to the new Orleans aquarium or a wanting person im ver glad yall answered me i am smart about this stuff just not about a few conditions but as of now i think he just over ate because my pitus used to do the same thing so i fed them less but this little pig eats alot of food and cucumber thats for the plecs and plec wafers ill post any new events contributing 2 his health thanx alot :good:
