Ok so Iv paid for and getting my new juwel rio 300 (350 litre) and stand on Monday... Iv just been on the juwel website and the measurements for the tank are 121Lx66Dx55H, I put those measurements in the calculator on here and it says the tank is 407 litres? Surely that's not right?

Theres a 3' or so gap at top for lights etc, ive got the old rio 300 (300l) also need to take into consideration the glass thickness which is about a cm

I'm having the tank of a friend and our measurements match the websites. It was 51 high and that was just the glass, from where the max water line is to the bottom, we didnt measure the light fitting part in with it. Strange that... The glass itself is bang on 1cm :)

Is it not 51 wide and 66 high? Not that that makes a difference but i thought it was roughly 66 high minus the light fitting

119 x 49 x 60 (lxwxh) works out at 350l

The juwel website is 121x51x66 (L X W X H) so minus 2cm on length and width, and 6 cm for light fitting would be the accurate measurement i think

Thanks a lot.

I got the rio 400 after (450 litre). Same measurements as the 300 but 151 long (5ft)

My friends plans for his new tank fell through so he is keeping his 300 now. Dont bother me as I got 100 litres more now and with a better filter (fx5 instead of fluval 405)

V.Nice, what are your plans? Fx5 is a beast

Well iv got 3 channa bleheri and an orange spotted plec in my 250 litre at the moment so they will be going in there. They are all very small so they are going to be lost in a tank of that size lol only problem is i dont know if i can put anything else in there with the snakeheads (more peaceful dwarf snakeheads)?? Iv seen alot of people keeping larger cichlids with them. the tank came with loads of bog wood and iv added rocks and fake plants so loads of hiding places :) going to get a background for it tomorrow along with some more tap safe also may need to replace 1 of the 2 300 watt heaters as 1 seems to have a loose connection. Can't complain though... Paid £200 for the tank, stand, sand, loads of bogwood, filter and the lights are working fine... It's like new. The guy was moving abroad for work so needed it gone :)

Also I'm hoping 2 of the snakeheads will pair up. If this happens then the 3rd will be re homed

Iv uploaded the pics iv taken to photobucket but I can't copy and paste the link using my phone. I'm going out now to hopefully get a background for the tank. Il try uploading again later using my tablet pc. Should work as its android and not apple/IOS5

I use photobucket app, sonetimes it works sometimes it doesn't. If not just upload them on the app then grab the IMG codes on the full site using your phone browser (on my iphone)

Hope these links work. also I no longer have the tiger oscar, just 3 snakeheads and the plec. The pics of the fish were taken when they were in my old tank

Ah seemed to of worked :). Bought a backround for new tank today but not put it on yet. Hope you all like. Just to so you can appreciate the actual size of this tank, the chinchillas cage next to it is nearly 4 foot in length and 2 foot wide and it looks tiny lol
