Was wondering this earlier as i'm making a propagater and it has low light. If I was to empty half the water would it become double the wpg? Plus emptying half the water will give me better flow. Just wondered, maybe a stupid question but making sure.

From all I have read and seen wpg is stupid. Differant lights put out more or less light it's not about how many watts. The watts is how much power the light uses . A cfl light that's uses 20watt will be as bright as a 65watt normal light.

Par is the only way to know how much light you really have. The wpg thing is like the 1inch per gal thing it does not work well.

Well as long as it works for me its cool, end of the day dropping the water level should do as I had a plant really close to the surface in it before and it grew so thick and bushy because it wasn't diluted by the water I'm guessing so hopefully it should work.
