I've just had a little read through the pinned thread on lighting and a few others, but I'm still confused. How do you work out WPG??? what factors do you have to add to the equation to get the answer??

WPG is watts per gallon, so you have to divide the wattage by the gallonage.

for examle, if you have a 10gal tank with 30watts of lighting, you do 30/10 which gives you 3WPG. :good:

Sooo... 2 x 36W Aquaglo's = 72W of light. Divide that by 33g (US) (125L to you and me).

72/33 = 2.18 = 2.18WPG

Ok, so this is why my plants are doing good. But with this WPG, would I need to fertilise and how often?

For a tank of your size and light I would recommended EI (estimative index) check out the pinned thread on this very topic :)
