Soo strange - I've been noticing a weird 'thunk' sound coming from his container since last night and saw that he's been leaping out of the water and hitting his head on the plastic cover. I'm going to lower the water level so he won't plop onto my desk if the lid gets loose.

As I was feeding him right now he overzealously jumped out of the water to get the food from my fingers!! He actually kinda freaked me out then he smacked his mouth into my thumb, lol.

How can something soo small have soo much attitude? Go fig, hehe. - Kari.

P.S - Am hoping that a salt bath with treat his finrot effectively. I'm getting really attached to this little guy! :)

my male isn't a jumper but i know all male betta can be surpriseingly strong for their size, especialy plakats. just lower the water and secure the lid, maybe provide him some intertainment in the way of bubbles or if ur tank is big enogh, a friend live a larg snail or dwarf frog :dunno:

A few of my short tail bettas (plakats & females) are quite good at "jumping". They do it during feeding time. I used to have a super delta tail betta who does this routine too. He may have learnt the behaviour from his plakat neighbour (i.e. in the next tank) because I sometimes remove the cards during feeding time.

He sounds great :flex:

I have a few that jump and they freak me out when I feed them. I've had 2 end up on the floor flip flopping around

 Hope he hasn't hurt himself, he sounds like he going to be quite a charactor. :hyper:
