After reading up on Sir & Lady M's experience with cookie I'm tempted to do the same thing, but at Petsmart.

I was in there yesterday and all the clown loaches had ich, some extremely bad.....

Would you see about getting them to take home and try to help?

Well, if you want to put out the money to set up a seperate tank,I suppose you could. But then again you're feeding the machine by purchasing fish from them...dying or not. It sucks that sometimes you just have to walk away to make a point.

Why not just go talk to the manager and have Petsmart fix the fish and then you can get them when they're healthy with no out of pocket expense for meds and such.I don't know their store policies on selling ill fish, I doubt they will but ya never know.
Also, this way, you'll save yourself the heartbreak of losing any. Clowns don't transfer too well and the additional stress may put them over the top.

Actually, I didn't plan on paying for them, or if I did it would be at a deep discount. I know the manager their and I already need to have a talk with him about the tanks as they have gone downhill in the last month. :(

I would focus on trying to get the top level people to implement changes to make the tanks healthier and cleaner. Of course they're only concerned with profits so you'd have to work the "healthy fish means less sick or dead fish (lost sales) and more purchases" angle.

Oh, I know once I point out the issues directly he will probably handle it right away... I'm sorta dreading that because he has been trying to get me to work their and this might be a way for him to push it. :(

I'm just thinking that if I could pick up the 5 or 6 Clown loaches in their tanks that are very ill w/ Ick and at least try to help them.......

Do what you think is right for the fish  As long as you can quarantine and (hopefully) heal them, they would make a nice addition to your 125

What is right for the fish and what is right for my pocket book are two different things so it kind of depends on the manager and if any are still alive when I go by their tomorrow.

I could see that the ones still alive on Saturday were in very bad shape. :( I have a 29 Gallon here and a 30 gallon that I just removed my puffers from so I have the room to treat them.

I'm basically going to offer him $1.00 each. After I fully explain the situation I know he will take action on the tanks to correct the problem, but without some TLC their is no way those clown loaches are going to make it and to be honest even beginners would probably not buy the fish in their current condition.

Basically it is a win win. If I get 6 for $1.00 each and save one I win and he gets something out of them. If not then we both lose because they will die. :(
