in my tank i have 2 dalmation mollies 1 siamese fighter a pair of killifish 2 dwarf puffas 2 red belly cichlids 1 bottlenosed plec and a hong kong plec an just wondered if i am feeding them enough. i feed them 4 times a week with half of a block of frozen daphnia ans the size of the peice is about 2cm x 1cm and a blocked the same size of frozen bloodworms. as for the plecs i put in a piece of cumumber about 1-2cm long 3 night a week??

thanks

U must feed them for 2 mins. How much they consume in 2 min. I do the same thing and they are fine.

Thats quite hard to do with the type of food being fed, it works for flake and pellets. but cucumber etc it hard to judge. Problem with most fish is they will ALWAYS look hungry, you can can them, then tens mins feed again and still they will rush to the top of the tank. If youre fish are happy and growing (assuming they are young) and you are not having problems with water chemistry (amonia, nitrites or nitrates) then you have got it right. I'd suggest using some algea flake once in a while for your plecs, they probably aren't getting much of the other stuff (except the cucumber).

yea i have found out after owning fish for about 5 months now they are greedy indeed they will eat for the sake of it if u put food in lol all water chemistrys are fine and fish are doing well and growing ok...especially the bottlenosed plec only had him about 6 weeks and he is knowtisably bigger but still only about 40mm long so got lots more growing to do
