Would This Work?

Long story short, one of my friends is leaving town and needs to get rid of his 3 Peppered Cories. I said I'd be able to take them if I had the room so....
 
The only tank I have that would be suitable is a 55g. The current stocking is:
12 Rummynose Tetra
1 Angelfish
4 Platy
8 Albino Cories
 
I know I need to increase their numbers but would I have enough space to up the number to 6?

I'd say you'd be fine. You would be at the upper limit of your stocking, but keep on top of your regular water changes and you shouldn't have a problem.
