I was just wondering if small Clown Loaches would eat live shrimp? I was looking at some very nice shimp in my LFS the other day and I asked if they would be ok with Clown Loachs they told me it would be fine but i couldnt have snails because the Clowns would eat them? This confused me as I thought the shimps would be in more danger  ? I wont be keeping them together when the Clowns get bigger (they have their own tank ready). My Clowns are 6-7cm long.

I was told that Clown loaches would eat shrimps by my local lfs, but I found thet my Clown loach dont even bother with my Amano shrimps.

Clown loaches love their invertebrates. SHrimp, snails or clams. It's difficult to keep any of them with loaches for long. They may be fine at first but you just never know how their instincts will affect them later on. I wouldn't try it but it's possible. The smaller they are the less they should bother the shrimp. Also clown loaches grow at most about an inch a year.

yes they do eat shrimp and snails, i had to figure that out the hard way......they ate them so i would suggest not putting them together!

my shrimps are breeding and surviving with clown loaches
