I came home today to find my bristlenose dead! It was very sudden as he seemed fine yesterday. I've had him for nearly a year and he had grown to about 3 inches or so. I added 4 rams to my tank 2 days ago though. Could it have been them? I haven't seen them pick on anybody.

Mine have only attacked my BN when it came to close to her fry.

Apart from when breeding i dont think they would have any reason to attack your BN.

Maybe it was something internal? Or the rams brought a disease into the tank which only affected the BN?

Sorry for your loss. :(

Maybe the introduction of the Rams increased territorial competition (even though your tank is big), leading to one of the other fishes (such as the red finned shark) attacking the bristlenose... :dunno:

Did the bristlenose look like it had been beaten up?

he was already half-eaten by the time I got in so I couldn't really examine him
