Hi!
I'm new to this forum and just making a new start at fishkeeping. I used to hang out in forums like this a long time ago, but senility is setting in and I couldn't remember the names of the websites.
I feel like a complete beginner again and will probably ask all sorts of stupid questions, but it's the best way I know to learn things fast!
I live in Sweden, I have five kids and I'm well over 40. I find it difficult to manage my hobbies alongside fulltime work and tending to the family's needs, but I'm going to give it another try now. I used to have seven tanks up and running at home and one going at work, but wiser from experience I've scaled it down to two at home and one in the waiting-room at work - kids waiting for their parents love it!
The water where I live is low PH, so I've mainly kept South Anerican cichlids of various kinds, but also fell in love with the Central American cichlids. Being a stubborn and experimental sort of person I.ve tried raising the hardness and ph in some tanks to try out some of the small African cichlids too, but that hasn't worked too well. Kribs are fine though. Kribs somehow always seem to work.
As I'm starting again though, coaxed by my five-year-old, I've just brought home a few mollies and platies so far. Have to wait for the tanks to settle properly before I get adventurous again.
So hi to you all - I look forward to lots of good discussions and chats!
