hi just set up my new 39uk gal tank filters going heaters warming and the lights are on.
i was wonderin could i possibally add maybe some java fern or vallis to the tank at this stage?

You should definately add plants right at the beginning. Fast growing stem plants are the best, such as anacharis and hornwort, so that plants can get hold of the nutrients in the tank, or else you will get algae.

I would only bother adding plants if you plan on planting very heavily so its safe to add fish right away.

If you dont I would not bother as it will only make your tank take longer to cycle.

ok thnx, i dont want algae so i think i might add some hornwort :D
