Getting old, but nowhere near knackered, i just lo
ive set up Boss's ready for him to go back in, now hes better.
i took some water from a mature tank and added it to his, which is a filtered tank as well. Boss has always been in a cycled tank.
anyway i tested his water and the nitrates where really high so checked the tank that the water came from and that was also sky high, realized it was some new bogwood that was causing this so i removed it. I did a 50% water change on Boss's tank but this failed so i did another and again failed
so eventually i syphoned right down to an inch above the gravel level and this sorted the nitrate problem but as you are aware this is now treated fresh water.
i know that bettas can live in unfiltered, fresh water but would it be safe to put him into this tank slowly, even with the knowledge that he has always been in a cycled tank.
