I have a 10 gallon tank with a bunch of platy fry. They are 1 week old, about 1/4 inch long. (6-7mm)

If I put a couple ghost shrimp in there for algae control, do you think they will go after the fry? They would be small, 1 inch long at most. There is algae in the tank already for them to go after, so it's not like they would be going hungry. (The algae is brown)

The answer is no but I have a feeling that ghost shrimp won't eat brown algea. I know that Amano shrimps
only eat the common green stuff. I think that you might be better off with some sort of snail.

Ghost shrimp aren't much for eating algae.....you might catch them eating a minute amount off a fine leaved plant when its really hungry but they make no difference whatsoever as far as algae being present in your tank.

I agree....an apple snail would knock it out...and I've seen them eat many types of algae.
