It's only forever; not long at all...
My unnamed VT has had septaecimia (ie, blood streaking) on his anal fin for a quite a while now. He came with it from the shop. It's slowly spreading, and thus far, no amount of clean water, salt, anti-bacteria meds, general tonics or whatever has helped. Plus the fact his temporary divider buddy jumped a huuuuge distance into his side, luckily (lol, not very luckily) it was only some fairly heavy fin shredding. To the other guy.... I've got experience trimming fins, I had to cut his ventral down because it was deformed in such a way it always was in front of his face, needless to say he kept going crazy and attackig it, but since he only bit the end of it grew back... Anyway, I'm thinking a fairly reasonable response would be just to trim off the entire affected area before it gets too close to his body, it would be much quicker, but it would also mean he has less finnage to drag around with him. Obviously I'm continuing with the salt and clean water, and is buddy is moving out tomorrow, but surely it would be better to get rid of most of it quickly than to weaken him further with loads of meds?
Adding onto that, anything that will help the other guys fin regrowth (he looks like he went to the blind punk hairdressers salon) apart from the aforementioned salt and clean water? Theres no infection, he just got shredded...
