Hi fellow fish lovers i got home from work today and found that there is a rusty/browny colour layer on my live rock and very slightly on my coral sand What is it? will it go? if not how do i get rid of it? please help it makes the tank look skank. Regards Dan

it may be diatoms, how longs the tank been set up??

i got it after about 2 weeks of cycling and my hermits and snails are now cleaning it up

the cycling and curing of live rock took about 7weeks we have only had fish in for about 2weeks, sounds the same can i keep shimps/hermits with 1xflame angel 1xclown wrasse 2xyellow tail damsels and 2xfeather dusters is it safe to put hermits in??
should be worried can it do any harm?
