Hi
I think the beginning of this was started elsewhere, but still no improvement.

Strudel, male Betta vt, was being treated for ich. We were using Parazoryne. Before treatment of the ich his dorsal fin had started to look twisted and started sticking together. That was a week ago. Now, all his fins are twisted and stuck together, including his ventrils.

The water stats are - Amm = 0, nitrIte = 0, nitrAte = 10/15, temp = 77.
The tank is 55L with internal filter.
Also in there are cory's and oto's.

He is definately getting worse with regards to his fins, although the ich appears to have cleared up.

Can anyone give advice about what we can do for his fins as his swimming is impared now?

Cheers

update - he also seems quite out of breath

Not good if he's out of breath
I would just increase aeration, as I wouldn't add a med with his laboured breathing.

Thanks Wilder. I'll put the bubbles on.

Have you tried lowering the water level in the tank? If he's finding it hard to swim and breathe this will make it easier for him to get to the surface.
Good luck, I hope you see an improvement soon. :good:

Hi guys

Well, i haven't started any other treatment and I got more bubbles going in the tank. Couldn't really drop the level of the water without turning the filter off.

His fins are now untwisting :good: He looks an awful lot better than he did. We get him to flare a few times a day and this seems to be helping. I still wonder whether it was the parazoryne that caused them to stick??

Thanks

How his breathing bless him has it gone back to normal.

Hi....yes his breathing is back to normal. He's swimming around more and chasing the cory's too. His fins are looking so much better. I really thought they were stuck for good as they seemed so tight. It's great to see him looking happier......he's my first betta and very special to me.

Thanks all :D

Bless him
Been lucky as once fish heavy breath they tend not to make it.
Glad he back to his normal self.
