I picked up my new Betta earlier today ( First one ever ) everything fine, lovely looking fish, nice and healthy looking, put him in his tank with the light off for a while, still all OK. Then i turn the light on and I notice he's trying to attack himself in the reflection of the glass. Has anyone else had this problem and will he soon realise that it's him in the reflection.

lol, its because theuir fighter fish, they think its another male, its quite normal, all mine have done it.

hehe, dont worry about it. a few of mine do it, too. give him a few days to get used to it, and he'll probably stop bothering with it. for now, just enjoy the show he's giving you. :D

extremely normal! just means he's even more healthier than you though!

now if he refuses to eat like my little guy thats another problem.

My betta did that all the time when I first got him. infact he still does it on a regular basis but not as much.

just make sure he eats too. he may not notice the food the first few times you feed him cause he's always fighting himself in the back of the tank. a good way to get him to notice pellets is to drop it in and gently blow the food pellet towards the back of the tank. after a while he should catch the drift and he'll come up to the front every time you open the lid. :D HTH :D

Thanks guys, I was worried for a while earlier, but I feed him a few pellets and he took them straight a way, and he's not fighting himself as much now either. :) Thanks again for the replys.
