Shocked to find one of my male mollies lying behind the heater, I thought he was gone. After I touched him with a net to check he swam back up to the surface and started looking for food. He has been spending a bit of time on his own lately but not excesively, on close inspection his scales are starting to protrude but he's not bloated or overweight at all. He has been suffering a bit at the hands of a new male I got last week who keeps trying to mate with him.

He's in a 17 gal tank with 5 other mollies and 2 guppies. Tank temp is 78, it is semi brackish. I'm meticulous abiut water changes but I haven't done my stats for a while (guilty as charged).

Any ideas? I've started treating with anti internal bac in case it is dropsy.

He's just lying on the bottom of the tank now. I put my hand to the glass and he looked up me, but he's very weak. I've switched the light off to give him peace. In the morning he'll either be dead or recovered. I'll give him overnight and if there's no improvement by tomorrow I'll put him out his misery. Please send positive thoughts.
