I am doing the water cahnges and just as i get to my second tank theres this white about 0.3cm long worm creature thing in my tank.
What could it be and what can i do to kill it if it needs to be killed D:

If it looks like a little slug it's probably planaria.

If it's actually worm like, i.e. it has rings like an earthworm, it may be a detritus worm.

I know it's small but if you can get a picture it would help.

Well, it think any worm would show poor filtration.
The first time I had some worms was when I turned off my filter whole a whole night before feeding. All the waste food stayed on top and got bad. I had a lot of them, and It was around 0.2-0.4 CM, and white.

Upgraded my filter and added an airstone, plus a really powerful power head and never saw them again. If you have a filter that blows bubbles, it will work too.

It's not poor filtration, it's poor tank maintenance, i.e. excessive organic matter build up. That can be in the filter, as in your case, or in the substrate, or any other nook or cranny where mulm has collected.

nematode worms are in every fish tank I have come across. Most people are completely oblivious to their presence until a larger species or planarian becomes present. They are part of the fish tank ecosystem and are entirely harmless. If tank maintenance is poor their numbers can be high. If you have ever noticed them in your tank they are still there, munching away on leftover food, fish waste, and detritus.

If it makes you feel better my bare 5 gallon fry tank has easily 6 species of various microfauna. Most just stroll around on the glass or on the surface. Some like cyclops can travel through the open water.

In my big planted 55 gallon most the microfauna I see is in the canister filter. Since the fish will eat a lot of them. Other then that they like my spawning mops. I find lots of large planaria in there, which my fish get to snack on. I found a live tubifex worm once, which was interesting since I've never fed tubifex before.

I found 2 worm-like things in my tank once, no idea what they were, but I just touched them to make them swim, and a platy gobbled them up! :shifty: Nom nom nom

MY PLATY WAS FINE BY THE WAY!

It was only one and i haven't seen it again,
my filters make bubbles and i have two, one pushing the flow down and one out to the side.

I would say it got eaten XD

It was my first and last i have ever seen
