Patience?! If you would like to show me where mine is, it'd be good to fine out! haha. It was all about the water! I dropped the TDS over a while, kept beefing them up, and bingo!
They have spawned about 20 times before they succeeded. But as i say, it was my fault as the water was not allowing them to be fertilised.
I am not holding out for a success though as its their first attempt....but you never know!!
I looked to sell them as these are apparently amongst the hardest discus to breed. But the video above has just made their market value sky rocket! haha. So lets see how i get on!

Well, the mum kept 'cleaning' the wrigglers, but when she spat them out, they fell to the floor of the tank. She then got bored and sat at the other side of the tank and ignored them! haha. It wasn't meant to be! But they have laid eggs again, though i want to lower my TDS a bit more before trying to raise them. The parents clearly need the experience too as they keep ignoring the eggs!
A friend up here who has several pairs has told me that on many occasions, he has seen experienced parents eat the eggs if there is a small batch - he believes the parents know the chances of getting many fry surviving out a small batch are low. On these occasions, he has experience of a drop in the parents, em, productivity(?) for a couple week, then they produce a HUGE batch of around 300 eggs! So may be blessing in disguise?!

I am currently trying to breed a very young pair of Pigeon Bloods also, and it is not easy, and I think you are quite right in everything that you have said. I have another pair that would breed like rabbits if I let them, and produced a good batch of fish on only their second go at it, but they are dull looking fish, and the young were even worse, so I don't want them breeding. The trouble with my Pigeons is fertility, so I will try your advise of lowering the TDS and see if that helps.

Thanks for the info mate.....perfectTDS should be below 100. As soon as my TDS dropped to 100, i got wrigglers! haha. But make sure the TDS doesn't go much below 60 i think or it can harm the fish
