got some from pets at home tropix decor wood mopani root got these bits of it
as i want to try and bring my ph down a little bit how much would i need as want to bring my ph 8.0 down to 7.4

any one know how long i have to sake it for ?

is a week ok i do i need to soake it for much longer ?

You just need to soak it for as long as possible.

Normally, soak it until the water is brown, empty, re-soak, change water when brown, re-soak etc until you get pretty clear water.

It'll leak into your water for months anyway, but more you soak it the more it'll help.

It doesn't work. Yes it will leak tannic acid, but it doesn't leak it forever. Tannic acid is the bit that stains the water brown anyway so once properly soaked it no longer function as your acidifier.

Maybe you should consider keeping mbuna or rainbowfishes instead. Much easier to match the fish to pH then adjusting it to suit the fish unless you go down the RO route.
