Have decided to take all bogwood out of tank and add pebbles instead.

Have put a few in just now to see if i like them and i do. Will need to wash the rest and get them in.

Just not sure where to put them? To side/Middle?

Oo I just noticed it  it's one of those loaches that has a sucker pad as it's stomach.. My LFS sells loads of them. Any good at cleaning up algae?? (not that I can see any in that tank :good: )

If the by the loach, you mean the 3rd picture, top left. I think that is a hillstream loach judging by the pictre (though I'm not 100% sure, a better picture would be needed). I think I'm right in saying they prefer faster flowing, well oxygenated and most of all cooler water, like 18-24C.

Nope 3rd is clown loaches, but you can see part of the 'sucking' loach in the top left of the pic (the pale blob)

You can see it on the top left of the 3rd pic too  and yup, its a chinese hillstream loach.

I think you should keep them on the side, things tend to look weird when they are exactly in the middle. :good:

Looks very nice - love the wee koi angel :good:

Zoe, I'm sure you know this already, but I would rather risk telling you something you already know than not saying anything at all!

When you move to the 6 footer, either build your rock foundations on the base of the tank and then put the sand in afterwards, or make sure you push the rocks right through the sand to the glass. Don't build your rock structures directly on the sand because the sand shifts and this can cause the rocks to collapse- straight into the glass.

Clown loaches are real gits for moving sand too. You're OK with the amount you've got in there now (and it looks good), but if you're going for serious stacks of rocks it's essential.

What it does mean is that you lose half your rocks under the sand, so you can get loads and loads more than you think you need.

By the way, my local garden centre does massive slate rocks, and they look awesome piled up. Yours may well do the same.

Ps. Awesome planting by the way, looks great.

Pps. Doesn't look like there are many places for the clowns to hide, they'd appreciate somewhere I think.
