Pearl, my white and pink super delta, won't flare for anything anymore. He used to, but now he just doesn't care. I even tried taking another fish, scooping it into a jar, and floating him in his tank. The other fish went wild, flaring and trying to attack Pearl, but he didn't react at all... he just kinda nudged the jar and swam on his fishy way...

-_- is this weird? Is it a sign of something? I want to see him flare again.

I have a fish that won't flare at anythig; mirriors, other fish, nothing. The only, and I mean only, thing he will flare at is a female :D

If you have one, you could try that :D

Hmm.. the only female around is back at my parents place... so Pearl would have to do some travelling this weekend... -_- I wonder if it's worth that...

I know it would be worth it to me. And even if he didn't end up flaring, it was worth the try. And if he does, well, you know now that he's going to want a female around :p I was so happy when I found out my male would flare at my female.

If he's not acting sick or anything, I don't think it's anything to worry about. :) Maybe he's just lazy, or getting old and tired?

Nope, he used to flare when I first got him, and he has had paper between him and the other tanks. The other fish got the same treatment, and THEY will flare, and they'll flare AT him too  but he won't do it :( He just ignores them.

Bill won't flare either, but he never has. Is it okay to keep a male and a female together without something 'happening'?
