Hey all. I just got a new 55 g tank to move my fishies into. They were in 2 10 g tanks...and learned (on here) that they didn't have enough room. I have 4 mollies and 3 guppies and a betta. I also have two plecos...they are moving out to the fish tank (6 ft x 2 ft round, with the gold fish). I think I got the ones that grow monstrous  . The tank has a sand bottom. I was wondering what else I could add. Here's a pic of my new tank. I used to have a 120 g with oscars a few years ago...we decided not to go that large again as of yet...we had such a bad experience with the oscars...totally our fault, as we were total novices! We are starting with smaller fishies this time.

I think Mollies like slightly salty conditions (brackish?) Also I don't think the Betta will like it in that tank especially with guppy. A Betta is better off in a small tank and alone.

Busy tank there!........What is that in the rear left corner?

your right for best health mollies do require brackish conditions there very prone to infection in freshwater. i actually keep my mollies in a SG of 1.010 and they thrive and wont stop breeding!!

the betta will do doubt attack the guppies due to there fancy tails, bettas really r stupid enough to mistake a guppy for another male betta! one of those 10g you said about would be more than enough for a lone male betta :good:

technically speaking plecs shouldnt be able to live with goldfish either as goldfish are cold water fish and plecs are not for the most part.

sorry to be so negative and all that but i think its better to tell you now :good:

What do you mean it's busy?

It's a stocking with gravel from their old tank...got that from another thread...it's not there anymore.

Yes I was worried about putting the betta in the big tank, but so far so good. I just don't have any room for 3 tanks to be set up. I have a thingy I can put in the tank to make him his own little area if I see my guppies getting beaten up.

I did know about the salt...no worries there.

I haven't moved the plecos outside...gotta see what kind I have first. It's very warm where I am, I think that they would be okay outside...and I can always get a pond heater thing or something for winter. If they are of the huge variety they will probably like the 6 ft round better.
