youve got to upload the picture online..

go to www.tinypic.com .. click browse, and find the picture on your computer.. then it will generate a url for you... copy and paste the url here.

as for your tank.. irridescent sharks grow quite large, and prefer to be kept in schools.. so if youre not planning on a significantly larger tank, i dont know what youre going to do with it.

jewel cichlids dont normally get to 6-7 inches, so chances are its something else.

yea the shark i know

Looks like a green terror to me.

And unless your "cuz" has something along the size of a public aquarium, I dont think that pangasius (shark) will be suitable for him. Return it to the shop before it gets any bigger - might teach them a lesson about selling fish that could potentially reach 4ft. And that's if they got the ID right, heaven help you if it's a pangasius gigas - they can get to 9ft!

Some links that may show you what you're dealing with:

This site says 52" for an iridescent:

It makes me mad that LFS can sell these. I know the common argument is that they dont reach that size in captivity but that's because they're kept in tanks too small for them and the end up stunted. Dunno about you but I dont want unhealthy stunted fish.

Send it back and get a nice pleccy ;)

Looks like a green terror to me aswell and the Pang cat will get WAY to big for your tank it gets nearly as tall as my sister :p ( she is the smallest women I have seen about 5'0 even :)
