Just noticed that. :p Was kinda wondering how long it would take before I'd stop being a newbie. Now I'm a fish fanatic! Yah!

Anyway, I've been thinking about how to stock a 30 gallon tank that I might get at some point in the future, here's an idea, any opinions appriciated:
-2 honey gouramis
-3 male swordtails
-5 otos
-2 african dwarf frogs

btw, just something I've been wondering about, when people say the 1 inch per gallon rule, do they go by uk or us gallons? :X I know it's not a great rule, but I've always wondered about that.

I would go with more otos than that, but make sure they are added when the tank is more mature, since they are so sensitive.

The rule is with US gallons, I believe.

congratulations on not being a newbie anymore!

I would have a few more honeys, they are such nice colours!
Would you consider a neon dwarf gourami???

I already have a tank with female swordtails, the prob is I think males are far more beautiful, but if one has to keep two females for every male and each fish gets 4 inches long that means one would need a 40 gallon tank just for three male swordtails, excluding other fish! So I was really planning on getting a males only tank.

I'm really hoping to get a spawning pair (or honey gouramis, not swordtails) and keep some of the offspring. Not too keen on neon dwarf gouramis (for some strange reason), but they are beautiful. I did however stumble across some red honey gouramis in my LFS. Has anyone ever heard of them? I haven't... The employee at the store said you can keep them the same as normal honey gouramis.
