Installed my nutrafin setup tonight and have bubbles aplenty, have a drop checker and its a nice deep blue/green colour.

My red eye tetra's are sipping at the surface of the water but my platies are they're usual chirpy selfs.

Should I be concerned about OD'ing on CO2? is my drop checker best positioned at the opposite end to the diffuser?

What water do you have in the DC? You can only really OD yeast CO2 on very small tanks, yes under 40lt.

if you get too much CO2 and not enough oxygen in the water you can suffocate the fish. This normally happens at night if there isn't much surface turbulence.

I have a Juwel 80 litre, with the CO2 I have the option to vent the gases at night which last I did and today I will reconnect it.

The water in the drop checker is tank water, i read through the thread regarding 4dkh water last night and pretty much confused myself!!

Will order some water from AE today me thinks, whats the best place for the Drop checker?
