So I got this plant labeled Anubias barteri, which I dont think is lying, I couldn't really find a place to put it in my tank when I bought a new cave for my Syno to hide in during the day. i read that it will attach itself to rocks and drift wood, so I forced an attachment. Has anyone done this before and has come up with good results, or am I just being crazy?

If there are also any tips with keeping this plant alive, I would love it. It seems like I am killing off my Elodea.... :/

just tie it to the rock with some cotton, i do it all the time with my Anubias.
Do you use Aquatic plant fertilizer?

Oh, I tied dit down with a rubber band. I guess I forgot to mention that... Is that okay?
I'm using FloraPride by Tetra products.

When Elodea turns brown, I know I have to remove it, but is simply cutting it with scissors at the base okay?

Trimming the roots a bit with scissors will trigger new roots to start growing and attach themselves better on the object.
