Ok, recently my filters have been getting clogged up in my 4ft coldwater tank.

i clean the filters regularly, and maintain frequent water changes.

But to prevent my clogging problems i was wondering if instead of the current filters i am using, replace them with a pool filter.

i have one kicking around in the shed. It contains a pool filter cartridge, i could remove this if need be, and use a lot of filter sponges etc...

i cant remember the l/ph of this pump but its quite a big one. it came with a 12ft swimming pool :p

so i would like some input for this idea. will it work?

TIA.

well it would depend on the strength of the motor. would it end up like a washing machine for them? i guess the only way to see is to fill your bath and try it there. put a goldie in and see how it does. if its constantly having to swim against a strong current then no you cant. goldies like to have tranquil places so they can sleep and rest.
if it is a torrent then maybe try placing ornaments in the flow to break it up.
if that doesnt work then another filter bigger than the one you have or make your own.
