Will This Work Out?

my angelfish have just laid eggs. i don't have any methyl blue, or whatever, so dya reckon it'd be safe to use protozin?
if it's not that known, its a waterlife product which prevents whitespot, loads of other diseases and fungus. will it have the same effect or will i end up destroying the eggs?

I wouldnt add it. Assuming your angel are good parents, they will fan the eggs preventing fungus. If they are bad parents the eggs will get fungused and they will eat them, or they'll just plain eat all the eggs.

they've been fanning the eggs since they laid them, as far as i'm aware of anyway, but there still have been some fungus infested eggs. i've been plucking them off with a knife, and been attacked a few times lol, but i feel the eggs are gonna be all gone by morning.
its really awcward because all the other pairs i've had in the past laid eggs on leaves which i could take out and stick in a 'raising fry set-up' where as this pair has laid them on the back of the tank!

Hi Pinkdolphin,

I've never heard of using protozin to prevent fungus on eggs. I wouldn't risk it personally.

Theres not really much you can do to help them other than leave them to it. If its their first ever spawn, it probably won't be successful anyway. It usually takes them a few tries to get it right.

well unfortunatly, the eggs have all been eaten. but by who i don't know.
i used to move the breeding pair to a breeding tank but i stopped doin that about half a year ago, got rid of my breeding pair and bought three new angels. i wasn't planning on getting breeding pair so i think i'm going to get rid of all the three angelfish and go with my plan of stocking up with a few more dwarf cichlids and a school of fish.

but i still don't know if there are any amazonian barbs! lol i would prefer to get barbs rather than tetras because of my pictus catfish and BGK
