So my 10 gal hex is seeing daylight again as at last I'm gonna set it up again. For starters I'm gonna put 3 sparkling gouramis into it. After that I'm not sure.
I'm gonna put gravel- What do you think of natural stone coloured or black?
Plants- I'm gonna put all fake in. I have no lights on this tank.
I'll add hidey places for the fishies also.
Any ideas? I know I'm limited due to the size and shape of this tank.

I've added black gravel from the lfs and went rock hunting with the kids so a nice little rock cave on the go.

3 sparkling gourami and some celestial pearl danios perhaps??

sounds alright, but with no lights, your not going to be able to appreciate the fish much :)

Yeah Tizer, I was thinking that. Not sure how much a replacement will cost but I'll check out gumtree or one of those sites in a couple of weeks and see what I can come up with. I've been looking up fish that like low lighting.

Get yourself a strip of LED lights and stick em around the top of the tank, i can imagine finding lights for Hex tanks to be a bit of a mission. eBay usually has loads.

I agree with the lighting, doesn't have to be fancy just so you can see the great fish :) neon tetras also add a great effect to any aquarium, I love them especially because i think schooling is just so cool! haha

LED lights are a great idea Tizer, thanks for that! TenaciousG, I have neons in my other tank so I'm going for something different. I got carried away at the lfs today and came home with 2 croaking gouramis (supposed to be sparkling but never mind), 2 endlers and 2 galaxy rasboras. I've ordered 1 more gourami and 2 more of the endlers and rasboras. I only have a rock cave for them at the moment but I'll sort that out during the week. :)
