Will My Ballon Molies Mate?

In my acuarium apart from other fish i have 2 ballon molies 1 male 1 female. I have seen the male touch the bottom of the female. The temparature is 25 degres and the ph is 7.0 Will they breed?are they matting?

Mollies, whether balloon or not, will mate if given the chance. After the mating you can start the clock on your next drop. It should happen about 28 days out in the future.

Its always a good idea to after the first drop, mark down that date, then mark down the date on her new 2 or 3 drops, you will see her regular gestation period. like oldman says it will be around 28 days, (just be aware mollies can hold thier fry up to 42 days, and they are the most common for the longer gestation periods, looking in my old diaries, mine averaged 34-37 days)

With a repeated fry production, I also experience closer to the 42 day mark. I even ran an experiment that is fully documented here under the often linked thread that gave me exactly 42 days for a female that had no male contact between drops.
