I have a box room as a bedroom and was wondering if a 55g tank would be okay to put on it? It will take my weight but im not sure about the tank. what do you think?

I would say it should hold - the floor should be as strong as any other room. Floors are strong enough to hold bed's and people so it should be strong enough to hold a fish tank IMO. A litre of water is supposed to weigh approximately a kilogram so the tank will weigh approx 31 stone/200 kilos (if that's right)?

I found this website the other day as well which might help? If you scroll all the way to the bottom of that page it gives you rough weights (not sure whether it's accurate?)

http://www.angelfire.com/ak5/nlaquatics/Remedy.html - This site reckons it'll be about 40 stone - which is like 3 or 4 people.

Edit: Make sure you put the tank across the joists in the flooring - if you have floor boards these'll be the opposite way to the joists so you need to put the length of the tank along the length of the floor boards.
