Will Dwarf Ciculids Get Along

ok i got more sorry if im bothering you about this i just want to find the right one Black Convict Cichlid , A. Borelli's Dwarf Cichlid, Blue Acara Cichlid

i tried firemouths in a community "small fish" tank once, then overnight fish kept disappearing LOL

like some dude said Firemouths have big mouths compared to Tetras and at feeding time they can often get confused and just swallow anything they can fit in their mouth, which in my case included guppies and tetras LOL

Grimmy i have kept an open mind about you thus far and given you benefit of doubt but now it seems you having a giggle, how the heck is a Convict or Blue Acara a "dwarf cichlid", they might not be 12-18" monsters but they sure aint "dwarfs"

You must use google, i bet you surf the net about fish, yet some of your posts sound like you just for the first time TODAY decided to keep fish?

I will carry on giving you benefit of the doubt though my friend :good:

im thinkin on the African Butterfly Cichlid

Black Convict Cichlid Archocentrus nigrofasciatus - (Central America) Definately wouldn't consider this as a good choice for a community tank. Known for being aggressive.

A. Borelli's Dwarf Cichlid Apistogramma borellii - (South American) Okay just to caution you...these are sometimes mislabeled at your lfs. I thought I was getting a A. borellii and what I ended up with was a hybrid called A. sp. "Steel blue". True borellii can withstand slightly higher pH ranges than other Apistos, and should be appropriate for a community aquarium.

Blue Acara Cichlid Aequidens pulcher - Not a dwarf

thanks alot im gettin the African Butterfly Cichlid

I'm kindof stuck in the same place.

I'm starting a new tank tho' and the combination I've (nearly) decided upon is:
A shoal of Cardinal Tetras together with 1 male and 2 female Apistogramma Agassizii.
Seems these Apis are calm, even to the point of being shy, but they find having shoaling fish around makes them feel safer - maybe they use the bahaviour of the shoal to help them know when a predator fish is around?

Api. Agas. need plenty of cover, so I'm heavily planting - this also apparently helps with keeping Algae levels down.

I'll let you know in a month or so how it's going....
