Will Chemicals Kill?

i went to Michaels today its this kind of art and craft store and they had a section were there was like some plants that were fake and silk but werent meant for aquariums do they have chemicals on them and if so will it hurt the fish and can i get the chemichals off with hot boiling water.they look like fish plants but its hard to explain but if youve been to michaels you know what i mean



they feel like silk
