I was wondering if i added some carbon to my filter will it remove the tennins leaching out of my drift wood. I never use carbon but have some on hand incase i ever need to medicate but i'm getting sick of the yellowish color lol. if the carbon will clear it up will you please let me know thanks alot.

Carbon will remove the color but will not do anything for the Tannic Acid (which lowers the pH). The amount needed may differ so get a big enough bag or ladies stocking (ones for the "Larger" ladies).

it would seen that given the right carbon type all tannins can be removed, to a greater or lesser extent. lol that was a shock to me.

I have the water buffered with some calcium carbonite . if the carbon will remove the color great its going in just for that purpose so i can keep the water crystal clear. Thanks for your help.
