Hi,

I'm in the UK and i get pretty cold winters. I'm not worried about my fish except i have a lot of live plants, water lilies (which have been successful which i planted early this year). Canna, Blackwater Iris and Pickerel Rush Blue. The Canna and Iris never even grew or appeared all year although they still remain just under the surface now. Will any of the plants die off at all or even die off completely and not come back the next year? I noticed last year my reeds seemed to die off a little bit during the winter. I'm sorta afraid my pond will look pretty bare over the Winter lol.

Any advice please?

they will die back but will regrow again next year.

Canna raised my eyebrow. I have never seen Canna grown in water. Mine grow from the bare rhizome in spring to about 2m now, in tubs on my balcony. I was thinking of cutting them down and bringing them in for the winter this weekend in fact.

so should i bring it out of the water now or wait until spring?
