Well someone in my family thought it would be funny to put an egg in my tank. It wasnt dyed or anything but i didnt know if the eggshell would hurt the fish. I think it may have some crayon on it too

Doubt it. Crayon on it? That should be OK, after all, wax is waterproof. Yuo should be OK, as long as it had the shell on.

How long was it in there? The only thing I can thing of is maybe if the shell started to dissolve, but overnight in water wouldnt do that.... a week maybe.

the fish wouldve probably ate the egg, with out the shellon, its good for them

yep nothing to worry about, i used to put egg shell in the tank for crabs and lobsters as they can gain calcuim from it.

The crayon will be non toxic too, so as long as it's not in there long enough to start to rot, then it will be harmless.

Darned Easter Bunny!

Betta breeders in Singapore swear by powdered hard boiled egg yolk for betta fry. As fragile as those buggers are, I wouldn't think you have anything to worry about.

BUT make sure no more unwelcome items are added. You got lucky with the egg, maybe next time you won't.
