Hi just a question,

If i have an aerator in my planted Rekord 70 will it cancel out the work of C02? Or is there a form of C02 that is not affected by the aerator?

Thanks

well having the surface agitation will promote O2 and CO2 exchange so having more surface agitation will be counterproductive to the injection of CO2. But, don't forget your fish need O2 and at night, plants switch over to using O2 instead of CO2 so you don't want your O2 levels too low either. You should find a happy balance

A lot of people have a water pump come on during the day and an airpump come on at night. The air pump helps keep the oxygen (O2) levels up so the fish don't suffocate. Then during the day the air pump goes off and a water pump comes on. This pump circulates the water and distributes the carbon dioxide (CO2) around the tank without creating too much surface turbulence. Then the plants get their CO2 during the day and the fish get their O2 at night.
The other option is to turn the CO2 off at night.
Make sure you have plenty of carbonate hardness (KH) in the water to prevent the PH from fluctuating.
