Wild Severum

Finally managed to get a photo that actually does justice to my little wild severum, Hetty.
She's only small but shows awesome colours. I wonder what she'll be like when she actually matures. The colours usually get even more intense then !

Definately !

This one is a female. I'm hoping that my red-spotted gold sev will end up to be a male (hard to tell for sure at the moment) and that I will be able to breed the two of them. With the wild genes, should get some pretty sturdy (and beautiful) offspring !

Haha awesome reply Sometimes its possible to find out exact river location or at least the river drainage system it was from. That way you would be able to find out exactly what species it is. In the Heros family you have 4 species that are recognised but then you get sp. species like sp. tapajo and sp. rotkeil and there are much much more that you can go into when it gets to full adult size it should be quite easy to pin point it. Its not massively important but quite interesting but it can sometimes help you work out how big it will get as the general sizes of Heros vary between 16 inches to 8 inches however the bigger ones never turn up in aquariums as they are food fish Though they would be pretty spectacular...
