well got a spare 20 gal now my fry have vacated so thought i would try breeding some wild microgeophagus ramirezi that my lfs has in has anyone got experience breeding these.

should i get a pair or trio?

whats the best way to use peat should i just put it in a media bag in my internal or use a box filter?

That really depends on how old the rams at the LFS are. If the rams at the store are (or are almost) mature then you might be able to spot a pair in the tank at the LFS. If you do, I would just go with the pair.

just get a pr and put the peat in a bag that cn then go into the filter or hang in the tank near the filter outlet. I prefer to have the bag of peat in the filter. If your current filter is full of media and you have a small box filter spare, then use the box filter. However, if your power filter has space then put the peat in that so the water passes over it quicker.

Normally pairs are recommended for Ram.
