Ok, so we found this clam at my grandparent's lake, and I brought it home, in hope I could put it in my aquarium. I have it quarentined from everything, to make sure it's alright. Is it alright to keep a wild caught fresh- water clam in my aquarium? I'm aclimatizing it and quarentinng it for a few weeks.

Might carry parasites that need both fish and molusks to complete there life style, outside of that you have to worry about it starving, if thats not a risk then yes it will work fine and lower nitrates.

they filter stuff out of the water. i hope you know that it will probably do more harm than good. its offspring are parasites to fish and if it dies, all your fish will probably go with it
