wierd thing with my gouramis

i was wondering if anyone knew why my gouramis (2) havent been killed by my Wild Severum or my Cichlid either. they've been in there for almost 2 months now. i dunno i dont want them to die, but now im kind of wondering why they havent even been attacked.

please dont get mad...i didnt buy the gouramis to get killed. but it just so happened all the community fish i had died except those 2, and i decided to replace my stock with aggressive fish.

its a 15 gallon tank

To begin with, a severum is too small to be kept in a 15 gallon tank, so a bigger tank will be needed.

Secondly, it depends on what type of gourami it is, how big it is and how big the other fish are.

haha not to worry....a new tank is on the way. the severum is small still.

they are drawf gouramis. actaully i they are pretty big, like adult size.

those are the only 2 fish in there besides the severum and the red tiger oscar. the oscar is about the same size of the severum.

i attached some pics to give you a better idea as to what im talkin about.

That is insane. The Oscar alone needs 50 gallons... I'm surprised no one's gone on a killing spree in there yet myself. In other words, I'm completely lost as to how nothing is dead yet too.

As long as you are getting a new, much larger, tank soon (75 gallons would be the minimum) your fish should be fine in that tank for the short term.

However, when you do upgrade and your fish become larger and more aggresive you will need to remove your two dwarf gourami since they will either be harrased non - stop or eaten by either one of the cichlids. At the monment both fish are too small to do serious damage to the gourami
